PICKLEBALL

About your new favourite sport…

What is it?

Pickleball is a fun and social sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Easy to learn and enjoyable for all ages and skill levels, it's a great way to stay active, meet new people, and have fun on the court.

Played with paddles and a lightweight ball on a smaller court, Pickleball is fast-paced, low-impact, and suitable for both beginners and experienced players.

What are the rules?

Pickleball is simple to learn, and we can teach you at your first session!

The best way to learn the rules beforehand, if you’re keen, is by watching this short video (below).
If preferred, you can read the rules here.

What are the sessions like?

For our social sessions, the games are self-managed. So one of the players on the court (or one of the Active team) will help explain the rules if needed and can explain/do the scoring for you. It’s simple enough that after a couple of hits, you’ll be a professional yourself!
Typically, we play doubles games, where the winners stay on but switch partners to keep it balanced. Some people prefer to play with the same person, and that’s fine too! Just take every other game off if there are players waiting for a game. It’s social, so everyone will get an equal go.
If we are at max capacity, there will be 2 people waiting per court. So on average, you’ll play roughly 2/3 of the allocated time.

For our tournaments, you’ll register as a doubles team and play a round-robin with semi-finals and a grand final. It’s all for fun, and these are beginner-friendly too.

Booking a session…

Paddles and balls are always provided; just come along and try it out!

Location: The courts are usually down at Frankston Centenary Tennis Club, but sometimes at Royal Pickle Club in Carrum Downs.
Time: We usually play the social sessions on a weeknight. Tournaments are every so often, likely on Saturdays.
Just have a look at the details of the session before you book in the description of that session.

If we planned on being outdoors but need to cancel due to weather or other circumstances, you will be refunded (or have the option to transfer your rego to another date). Check out the other T&Cs here.

We have limited spaces available for each session. First in, best dressed!
